Hake And Chips

Tender, lemony hake fillets in a beautifully crisp coating flavoured with parsley and spice for Fish. Serve with hot chips, lemon wedges and a leafy green salad for a sensational seafood supper.

Cooking Directions

  1. In a bowl whisk the eggs together with Sea Salt.
  2. In a separate bowl marinate the hake fillets in the lemon juice and a pinch of Black Pepper.
  3. In another bowl mix flour together with Spices for Fish and Parsley.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in thick based pan.
  5. While the oil is heating dip the hake fillets in the seasoned flour until well coated and then into the egg mixture.
  6. When the oil is hot enough, fry the fish for 5 minutes turning once or until golden brown
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve piping hot with oven chips.

Ingredients

  • 4 Captain Fisher hake fillets
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • pinch of Black Pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp Parsley
  • 6 eggs
  • Sea Salt to season
  • 30 ml vegetable oil for frying
